How to Book a Private Chef through Take a Chef

Welcome to Take a Chef! If you are interested in booking a private chef service with us but are not sure how our platform works, in this guide we explain step by step how to book your ideal service:

1. Create a service request

The first thing to do is to create a service request, this can be done from our home page www.takeachef.com and clicking on “get started” or you can also acces directly from this link.

In the request form you will need to fill in all the important information for the service, this will help our chefs have all the information they will need to understand your expecations and design a tailor-made proposal.

a) Single or Multiple request?

The first thing to figure out is whether your service is a single or a multiple request.

A single request is a for only one service and for a single day. If you are looking to have a romantic anniversary dinner, celebrate a birthday or a special occasion this option is for you.

A Multiple request is for more than one service in one or more days. If you are going out for vacation and wish to have a private chef experience during your short stay this option is for you.

b) Select the occasion

If you are celebrating a special occasion such as a birthday, family reunion, anniversary or just have a craving, help us inform our chefs so they can keep this special occasion in mind when designing the proposal.

c) Where’s the event?

In this section you must include the exact address where the service will be provided so that your request reaches our chefs in the area.

d) Select the number of guests

For single services you will need to select the range of guests so that our chefs can offer a quote per person.

For multiple services you will need to select the exact guest count for the group as our chefs will design a tailor proposal and quote for the group based on the dates and number of services they will provide.

e) What are you craving?

We understand that a lot of menus will be incorporated in a multiple service and you will not necessarily select the same cuisine for all days, this is why our chefs will not provide a menu proposal for a multiple service request as you will have the option to plan all of the menus with your confirmed chef later on.

f) Select your dates

In this option you will need to select the specific date or dates for your service.

g) Select the specific services or schedule

For single services you will need to specify the schedule for the service.

For multiple services it will be necessary to select the specific services that you wish to enjoy during the service.

If they are marked with the green check mark the dates will be included in the service and if they are marked with the red cross the date or dates will not be included in the service.

h) Determine the budget

In this area you will be able to choose between 3 different price range options. The range you choose will be the budget that will be given to the chef to choose to design the menu(s) and will take into account ingredients, time, complexity of the menu.

It is important to note that for single services the budget will be quoted per guest and for multiple services the cost will be quoted for the group and this price does not include the cost of the ingredients.

i) Allergies or restrictions

If anyone in your group has any allergies or food restrictions that our chefs should be aware of, it is important to mention them in this space so they can keep this important point in mind at all times.

j) Notes to the chef

If you have any important notes, would like to share additional information about your service preferences, or need to clarify any details with the chefs, you can use this space.

This comment box will be shared with the chefs, allowing them to receive valuable information to help them plan your ideal service.

k) Contact information

Finally, you will need to share your contact information to create your Take a Chef profile to receive proposals, see and reply messages from the chefs, and confirm your service.

2. Receive proposals

You have created your service request! Now our top chefs in your area will be notified and you will start receiving proposals very soon.

You will be able to receive up to three proposals from three different chefs and within each proposal you can lean more about our chefs and their experience. Within each proposal you will be able to:

Review the menu proposal (for single services only) and quote
Message the chef
Access his bio and reviews
Check out other sample menus the chef has created.

3. Finalize Details

Before confirming your service you will be able to message your desired chef to ask any questions you may have about the service, request changes to the menu and clarify important details before proceeding with the confirmation.

4. Confirm your booking

If you already have your ideal chef in mind and wish to confirm the service, you only have to proceed with the confirmation and payment within the platform.

Once booked you will receive a confirmation email with all the information of the service and you only have to finalize the last details so that the day of the service you just sit back and enjoy.
