Take a Chef’s Payout Methods
We facilitate payments primarily through wire transfer using Wise, except in the UK, where Revolut is used.
In rare cases where Wise isn't available in a country, PayPal is the alternative. If this applies to you, a Take a Chef team member will reach out directly.
Check the Wise supported countries page to see if your country is supported.
FAQs
Here are the most common questions about payments.
1. How long does it take to get paid?
Take a Chef processes payments within 2 working days after the service date. Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays in Spain are not counted as working days. To avoid delays, make sure your bank details are correct and up to date on your profile. You can update your bank details in the Bank Details section of your Take a Chef profile.
2. Why is my payment delayed?
Possible reasons include:
- Incorrect or incomplete bank info.
- Missing invoices.
- Weekends/holidays.
- International payments (outside the USA) may take longer to process.
- Services are being investigated due to clients' complaints.
First, review any pending issues on your end. If everything looks good, contact our support team for further assistance.
3. Where will you send my payment?
Payments are sent via bank transfer to the account listed in your Take a Chef profile.
4. Can you pay me through Venmo or PayPal?
We primarily use Wise. For countries with restrictions, we will request your PayPal account so we can send your payment.
5. What information do you need to send my payment?
The required information depends on your country. Visit your Take a Chef profile and go to the "Bank Details" section. The fields will indicate what information we need from you. Hover over the info icon for more details.
6. Can I receive a deposit to prepare for my upcoming service?
For security reasons, Take a Chef does not offer advance deposits. Payments are processed in full after the service is completed.
7. What can I do if the payment was sent to an old/inactive bank account?
The money will bounce back to us, and we will resend the payment to the correct account. Please note that this process may take additional business days.
8. What can I do if my payment has not been processed yet?
Start by confirming the service date and allowing the full 2 working days for processing. Check if your bank details are correct and up to date on your Take a Chef profile. Check the service notes section to ensure your service did not require an invoice.
If an invoice is needed, send it to info@takeachef.com. Review your inbox in case Take a Chef has reached out requesting additional information to process your payment. If everything seems normal and your payment is still delayed, contact our support team so we can expedite the process.
9. The payment was sent but is not reflected in my bank account. What can I do?
Depending on your bank, it can take up to 5 business days from the payment processing date for a payment to reflect in your account. If the payment was sent, use the Wise confirmation email and contact your bank for additional information.
10. The service status shows “Paid and Executed.” Why don’t I see my payment yet?
The “Paid” and “Executed” status updates automatically after your service ends — it does not mean the payment has already been sent. Payouts are processed according to Take a Chef's payment policy, as long as your bank information is valid and up to date.
For any additional questions or issues, please reach out to our support team.
