How the Take a Chef Ranking Algorithm Works to Get You More Requests
Decoding the Take a Chef ranking algorithm to get you more bookings
Your hard work and dedication should be rewarded. While we know your cooking is top-notch, understanding Take a Chef's ranking algorithm will allow you to play to your strengths and ensure you have the best spot in line to get new requests. Stay proactive and responsive, and update your details regularly.
Pre-assignment
There would be no point in sending you a request for a service in a distant city, with a cuisine you have little experience with, or during your time off. That's why our platform's first filters are the practical aspects of the request, contrasted with the information defined by you in your Chef profile:
- Service Area
- Preferences
- Calendar Compatibility
Take a Chef’s Ranking Algorithm
Once Chefs have been filtered by practical aspects, our ranking system is based on the following factors:
- Conversion rate - How effectively do you turn proposals into actual bookings.
- Quality - A sum of the score given by our ranking team and your average guest score.
The Assignment Process
New service requests move through our Chef catalog in a cascade manner. Let's break it down:
- Top Ranked Chefs: As it is only fair, our Chefs with a high conversion rate and quality services are the first in line to get a new service request.
- Quickest Chefs: If a guest moves on from the three initial proposals, the request is sent to other suitable Chefs. Be ready to send your proposal once a new spot opens.
- New Talent: We believe in giving new Chefs a real chance. Recently joined Chefs will have priority over low-ranking Chefs.
Chef's Tip
Did you know that a guest can send a request exclusively to you? They can simply click on the yellow 'Book' button on your Take a Chef profile, and the request will land directly in your inbox without competing against other two proposals or higher-ranking Chefs.
Here is what direct requests can do for your private Chef business:
- Expand your business reach: You can share the link to your Take a Chef profile on your social networks and other channels you use to showcase your work. This will increase your chance of bookings and improve your ranking to get more organic requests.
- Enhance your personal brand: When a guest lands on your Chef profile, whether from the web or through our website, your credibility is backed by our image and recognition. These also improve guests' trust when booking and paying for a service.
- Boost your conversion rate: As they come from guests specifically interested in an experience with you, they tend to result in bookings. A higher conversion rate will improve your ranking and give you higher visibility on the platform.
