Understand how many proposals you can expect from Take a Chef

At Take a Chef, each request can receive up to three personalized proposals from three different local chefs. Proposals typically begin arriving shortly after your request is submitted, though it may take up to a few hours for them to appear in your account. If no proposals arrive, you can try updating your request details — such as adjusting the date, location, or menu preferences — to improve your chances of a match.

If you don’t receive any proposals on Take a Chef, it is typically due to one of the following reasons:

  1. Busy chefs: Chefs in your area might already be fully booked, especially during peak seasons.
  2. Short notice: Chefs usually need at least three days' notice to prepare properly for your service.
  3. Growing chef network: We are continuously expanding our network of chefs in your area to bring you the best possible experience.
