# How to plan your event with an uncertain guest list
## Still figuring out the guest list for your event? Here's how to navigate it.
If you are unsure of your final guest count, you can still place a service request. For single services, select the closest guest count range; for multiple services, enter your best estimate. Your chef can adjust the quote in the proposal. If the count changes after booking, your chef can adjust the price through the booking.
### How to place your order if you're unsure of the guest count:
While it's ideal to know the final guest count before placing your service request, we understand that sometimes it's difficult to get an exact number. Here's what you can do:
#### **1. Place your order:**
Start by placing your service request within the platform.
For **single services**, select the guest count range that is closest to your estimated number.
Your chef can adjust the price within the proposal based on your final guest count. During checkout, select your confirmed guest count and the platform will automatically display the correct quote and calculate the total. If you don't know the final number yet, select your current number; you can change it later with your chef.
For **multiple services,** the platform will request that you select a specific number of guests instead of a range. If you are unsure about the final guest count, we recommend selecting the closest approximate number.
For multiple services, quotes will be based on the total guest count and the total services you are requesting. If your guest count changes, your chef can adjust the quote within the proposal accordingly. However, the final guest count field cannot be edited after submission, so it will not be updated.
#### **2. Inform your chef:**
In the "notes to the chef" section, let your chef know that the guest count is an estimate and may change. You should also use the messaging section to inform your chef of any modifications made to the booking. This will allow them to make the necessary adjustments and ensure a smooth dining experience for you and your guests.
#### **3. Adjustable rates:**
Keep in mind that the price per person may vary if your final guest count differs from your initial estimate.
### What if I need to change the guest count after confirming my order?
Yes, you can update the guest count after confirming your order. First, agree the change and the new price with your chef in the booking messages. Your chef then adjusts the amount from the booking:
- **Increasing the guest count:** your chef sends you a payment request for the additional cost (Request Money), and you receive a link to pay it.
- **Decreasing the guest count:** your chef refunds you the difference through the booking (Send Money).
